      <image:title>About - Hi, I’m Dr. Sonya Park.</image:title>
<image:caption>I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and a clinical supervisor. I believe in genuine connections that lead to authentic relationships and selves. Deep connections spark joy in me and I have an innate curiosity for people, the world, and how things work, which ultimately has led me to this field. Since 2010, I have had the opportunity to receive training in diverse settings, often considering how culture and religion is shaped and shapes our lives. More importantly, having had the privilege of working with many different individuals (from children to the elderly; university students to psychiatric forensic patients), I have learned that each one of us has a deep, rich, meaningful story, and a generation of stories behind us that brings us to where we are today. Discovering all the riches of truth and depth in our lives is always a humbling and meaningful experience for me. As a psychologist, I offer insight-oriented therapy. This kind of work often takes more time as we are uprooting, pruning, nurturing, and allowing you to time to grow. Sometimes clients might find it frustrating as they might not recognize progress or want to grow quickly. But I liken it to a seed that has yet to be sprouted and seen, it is still growing and moving its roots deep into the ground. It is rooting itself a secure foundation to break through from and grow in wholeness and health. Thus, my desire is that my clients will not just learn to cope in order to survive, but grow deep roots to thrive and flourish. And growing and good things always takes time.</image:caption>

<image:caption>“I don’t even know what to do...” Are you feeling hopeless and lost? Exhausted and tired of trying. Everything feels so hard to do. Things that once sparked joy, now feel like a chore. You’re drained. But you feel you have to keep going. Feeling the pressure and weight of your responsibilities. Feeling guilty that you can’t even do the “simple things.” Do you feel like you’re drowning, treading water, or perhaps stuck in a deep hole? Are you feeling alone?</image:caption>

<image:caption>Pressure, burden, shame, guilt, and stigma. Are you feeling the weight of the expectations and obligations of your family? The responsibility for your family members, school, career, relational goals, or even how you deal with the struggles you are facing. Despite mental health being more accepted than before, is it hard to even consider therapy because of how your family might respond to it? Are you grappling with the generational differences in your family? You have differing opinions, values, and boundaries that at times create conflict, misunderstandings, and feeling disconnected.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Life Transitions - Life Transitions</image:title>
<image:caption>Are you entering a new phase in your life? Or coming to an end on one? Getting married, becoming a parent, and going back to school again are big transitions. Changing careers, getting a separation or divorce, or changes in your relationships are also difficult changes. These life transitions can be anxiety-provoking and scary. You might find yourself feeling uncertain about what’s to come, doubting your decisions, ruminating on your options again, or wondering if you’re ready or have what it takes to enter this next phase of life.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Is it me? Am I being too sensitive? Do you wonder if you’re the problem in the relationship? Unsure why you keep finding yourself in these difficult relationships. Or why these same fights keep happening over and over again. Leaving you feeling frustrated, stuck, and hopeless. Do you feel disconnected from others? Feeling unknown, unseen, and alone. Wondering if you’re lovable and acceptable, or if people will leave if they really knew you.</image:caption>

<image:caption>What if’s and should’s. What if this happens? What if things don’t work out? What if my worst fears come true? Or I should have done this or that. I should do more. Do you find these types of phrases running through your mind? Worrying, anticipating, or replaying events. Unending and keeping you up at night. Leaving you feeling exhausted and afraid. Wanting relief, but can’t seem to stop. Eventually feeling overwhelmed that it breaks into a panic.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Christians - Christians</image:title>
<image:caption>Are you trying to make sense of your struggles within the context of your Christian identity? Feeling confused about how to integrate your faith? Perhaps it’s about difficulty setting boundaries, while feeling you should be more forgiving, gracious, and compassionate. Or dealing with challenges that are often considered taboo at church, or go against your own values and beliefs. Do you feel guilty that you’re depressed and anxious because you believe you wouldn’t be if you had more faith? Life throws hardships, people hurt others, and Christians nor the church are exempt from this. Unfortunately, this means it’s not uncommon that the church community you trust may have hurt or even traumatized you, leaving you feeling angry, confused, or disillusioned. And consequently, even impacting your relationship with God.</image:caption>
